Most of the Zinn and Clydesdale mountain bikes built in the past few years have all been using 29 plus tires. A 29 plus mountain bike is a great option for a big and tall rider for many reason. For one the larger volume tires of a 29 plus mountain bike look and feel more proportional for taller riders. You also get added traction in sand and on technical trails.

We recently built this custom titanium electric mountain bike for a long-time customer of ours in Hawaii. The rider is 6'8" and 275lbs and we built this mountain e-bike with 29 plus tires. The Tires are 29x3.0" which are a real game changer for a big and tall person. You get better traction and stability, and even more tire cushion, which is nice when you don't have rear suspension.

Learn About Large Wheel Electric Bikes This has been a really fun project from the beginning. When Jusuf Nurkic called and told us his last Custom Zinn Titanium Gravel bike got stolen, we wanted to replace it with something really unique. Since he is 7’ tall and 275lbs and plays center for the Portland Blazers, we decided that we could do something truly special to enhance his riding experience.

The Case for Short Cranks By Lennard Zinn It’s probably clear in my previous “Why Proportional-Length Cranks?” blog post that I generally see performance benefits for tall riders with long legs in using long cranks. And by long, I mean longer than the standard 170-175mm (or even 165-180mm) offerings from the big component brands. In fact, I have found that riders will generally climb best (and often feel best) on cranks that are in the range of 20-21.6% of their inner leg length.

Hey lennard - this stuff rocks! i am sure you will have success with it. i am also the race director for the UB515 series in brasil - we have three large events with a lot of good sponsorship. i will put the word around that you are still making stuff like my 190mm cranks !!!! those cranks have about a million race miles on them, with finishes as high as 3rd OA at ultraman canada, and 2nd OA at Ironman Revisited. i also won the ultraman world championship for my age group twice on them. i can see them from where i am sitting - my Cervelo R3SL is hanging from the ceiling in the front office : ) i loved being able to get you guys out on the water, i wished i had gotten out there too, but it was one of those weeks. next time! as for C19, Kona is of course so far off the beaten path no self-respecting virus would make it here. we have 5 cases, no-one has been hospitalized. i suspect that is the worst of it. stay safe and i'll talk to yhou soon, [/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]

We wanted to let everyone know that Zinn Cycles and Clydesdale Bicycles are still operating as usual. We are a small team, and we are all working at separate locations to keep ourselves safe and we are following all local recommendations for safety. We are shipping orders and building bikes daily. Many of you can still go outside and ride your bike, but many of you are restricted to your homes. We wanted to take this time to offer our assistance in getting you all set up for indoor cycling so you can stay active, fit, and mentally healthy over the next few months. For a limited time, we are offering some indoor trainers that you can use your bike on for indoor training and we are here to assist you in finding indoor cycling training programs via online resources or with an actual coach.
